One of
Jay's favorite hobbies is automobile racing. While in Germany,
Jay
used to drag race at Ramstein Air Base and he raced on
circuits in
Nurnberg. In America Jay is currently an active crew member on
the JW
Miller Land and Timber number 22 ARCA racing team. Driver
Billy Thomas is
the 4 time DuQuoin, Illinois State Fair Champion. As a pit
crew member,
Jay's primary job is to help wherever help is needed and on
race day he
is a spotter. Another of Jay's racing activities is with the
local dirt
track, East Alabama Motor Speedway, where Jay writes the
weekly race review which is published Nationally.
Jay took these pictures of racing hero Dale Earnhardt at
Talladega in the
fall of 2000. This was the last race Earnhardt won before his
unfortunate
death at Daytona.
This picture of Roger Arnet of the Outlaw Racing Team being
arrested was
taken at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Jay calls this picture
"Arnet's
Self-Fulfilling Prophecy" |
